More and more patients are suing surgeons over mistakes during operations designed to improve their appearance, according to the Medical Defence Union, which represents more than half of Britain's doctors and surgeons when accused or malpractice or negligence.
Details of the shows that breast surgery, facelifts, eyelid operations, nose and cuts to weight loss procedures account for 80% of the increase in the number of wires, with errors that lead to loss of earnings over £ 500.000. In 2005, the then Chief Medical Officer, the Sir Liam Donaldson, published a report which concluded that regulation was necessary and made a series of recommendations, but little was done.
